Earn incentives to optimize your energy usage

The Telecommunications Efficiency Program (TEP) helps customers with medium and large telecommunications facilities identify and implement energy-efficiency improvements that lower your energy usage and energy bill. You’ll also earn valuable kilowatt-hour (kWh) incentives to help recover improvement costs.


What you get

Customers who qualify for TEP may receive the following:

  • Hands-on guidance throughout the energy-efficiency process, including a no-cost facility audit and identification of low- and no-cost energy-saving measures.
  • An action plan report that details a holistic review of your facility’s energy usage and loads, including HVAC, controls systems, mission-critical loads, uninterruptable power supply and other facility systems.
  • Recommendations for capital energy projects, should you decide to invest in future energy-efficiency upgrades.
  • Incentives based on verified kilowatt-hours saved. Current incentive rates are listed below.

How it works

PSE partners with Willdan Energy Solutions to implement this program. Once PSE confirms that you qualify, Willdan’s teams guide you through the process below.

Consultation: Once you qualify, Willdan’s teams perform a no-cost facility audit with measure recommendations, estimated energy savings and incentive options.

Install:Install: Willdan’s telecom facility expert technicians are available for installation oversight and validation with minimal to no interruption of your activities.

Benefits: Receive PSE incentives to help pay for energy-efficiency upgrades, and save operating dollars with a lower energy bill.


How you qualify

To be eligible for TEP incentives:

  • Your facility must be within PSE’s electric service area and you must be a current PSE electric customer.
  • Your facility must operate as a telecommunications company with the majority of your electric load associated with cellular, fiber optics and/or internet services.
  • Facilities whose principal location is for office or retail use usually do not qualify for this program.
  • Your facility must be pre-approved by PSE prior to the installation of all energy-efficiency improvement measures.

Implementation requirements to receive TEP incentives:

  • You must provide conditional facility data concerning variables that may cause energy-usage fluctuation at your facility (e.g., labor hours, outage data, etc.).
  • You must submit an action item completion report documenting all incentive-eligible costs, including, but not limited to, materials and equipment invoices, internal labor costs, and contracted labor costs.
